Tomorrow, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Jonatan Vseviov will be meeting in Berlin, with Dr. Katrin Suder, State Secretary for the German Federal Ministry of Defence.

The meeting will focus on developments in NATO, European Union defence cooperation and defence cooperation between Estonia and Germany.

According to Permanent Secretary Vseviov, Estonia wishes to deepen cooperation with Germany in the cyber field, where Estonia would benefit by learning from Germany's recent experience in building up its cyber defence command.

As Member States of the European Union and NATO, Estonia and Germany have a great number of common interests in the security sector.

The two countries have enjoyed longstanding and close defence cooperation, extending from cooperation in capability development and procurements to education and training.

"The meeting will provide an excellent opportunity to thank Germany for its prominent contribution to the security of the Baltic region. We greatly appreciate Germany’s frequent contributions to securing our airspace through NATO’s Baltic Air Policing Mission," said Vseviov.
