Estonian Minister of Defence began his visit to Mali

Minister of Defence of Estonia Jüri Luik began his visit to Mali to meet with the Deputy Special Representative of the UN peace keeping mission and the Estonian servicemembers serving there.

During his visit Minister of Defence Jüri Luik will be meeting with Joanne Adamson, Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), and Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre, Force Commander MINUSMA.

Minister of Defence Luik will also be visiting Estonian troops serving in Operation Barkhane, to learn about their tasks and operational area. In addition, he will be meeting with Brigadier General Peter Mirow, Mission Force Commander of EUTM Mali.

In addition to its contribution to the French-led Operation Barkhane, Estonia also has two staff officers at the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), and training instructors and staff officers at the EU Training Mission in Mali (EUTM).
