Today, at the Ministry of Defence, Colonel Lieutenant Edouard Bros was presented with the Ministry of Defence's Golden Badge as recognition for strengthening Estonian-French defence cooperation and defence posture.
Colonel Lieutenant Bros commanded the French contingent in Estonia from April of this year, integration of French staff officers into the Estonian Division Headquarters, cooperation of French units with Estonian Defence League, and participation of French forces in exercise Spring Storm 2023.
"Thank you for your outstanding contribution to Estonian national defence. France has clearly demonstrated its leading role in the collective defence of NATO's Eastern flank.," said Madis Roll, Head of the NATO and European Union Department at the Estonian Ministry of Defence, who presented the badge.
Colonel Lieutenant Bros' service in Estonia will end in June, and Colonel Lieutenant Thomas Miailhes will assume the position as the new commander of the French contingent.
Golden Badge is awarded to Ministry of Defence employees and Estonian and foreign citizens for their contributions to the development of Estonian national defence.
