During the past two days, NATO defence planners have been in Tallinn on an evaluation visit; Estonia’s present and future national defence capability was assessed during the meeting.
The development of Estonia’s military national defence, current defence capability, and probable development plans were analysed in detail during the annual meeting. The fulfilment of obligations to NATO, especially those regarding the achievement of Force Goals, was also reviewed. NATO’s defence planners were satisfied with the development of the Estonian Defence Forces and spoke highly of the work done by Estonia.
Among other things, implementation of the development plan for the Estonian Defence Forces, contribution to NATO Response Force, and issues related to preparations for the summit meeting in Riga were discussed.
