Estonian Defense Minister Margus Hanson will attend the European Union\'s General Affairs and External Relations Council (GAERC) meeting on May 18.
Apart from foreign ministers, also the defense ministers of EU member states are taking part in the meeting that lasts until Tuesday.
Hanson will attend the first day of the session, when the near future of Europe\'s security and defense policy, matters related to crisis regulation, the European Union\'s military capabilities, rapid deployment, and the joint defense agency will be discussed
During GAERC session the meeting of the defense ministers of the EU and Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Norway and Iceland will take place.
Joint sessions of foreign and defense ministers are held twice a year to discuss developments of the past half-year in matters concerning European security and defense policy.
