PRESS RELEASE nr. 72 Estonia and Great Britain to hold political-defence negotiations

The delegations of the Estonia and British Defence Ministries are holding political-defence negotiations in Pärnu today. The main topics of the talks are NATO enlargement and the latest developments in the Estonian Defence Forces.

The delegations of the Estonia and British Defence Ministries are holding political-defence negotiations in Pärnu today. The main topics of the talks are NATO enlargement and the latest developments in the Estonian Defence Forces.

In addition to the above mentioned topics the participants will discuss fight against terrorism and the role of NATO in it. Also possible developments following the NATO Prague Summit Meeting will be tackled upon.

The Estonian delegation led by Jaan Kuks, the Director of the International Co-operation Department of MoDwill give an overview of Estonia’s preparations to join the Alliance and will introduce the latest developments in the reforming process of the Estonian Defence Forces.

The delegations will analyze the developments in the Estonian-British bilateral defence co-operation so far and the plans for the future.
