The permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions of the War Museum tell the stories of the Estonian Defence Forces in the past and present, the War of Independence, as well as wars fought on Estonian soil, the service of Estonians and other local peoples in foreign armies, and wars around the world where Estonians have had to fight.
Museum's permanent exhibitions:
- Before the 20th century: "From Prehistoric Times to the Early 20th Century";
- 1914–1920: "World War I and the War of Independence";
- 1920–1940 and since 1991: "Our Army. Estonian National Defense 1920–1940 and since 1991";
- 1917–1940: "The Story of Estonian Uniforms";
- 1939–1945: "World War II";
- 1946–1991: "The Cold War";
- Since 1995: "Estonian Defence Forces in International Operations";
- Weapons exhibition;
- Marksmanship room;
- Defence League room;
- General Johan Laidoner's room;
- Military equipment hangar.
In addition, the museum hosts several temporary exhibitions that are available year-round.
