Minister of Defence Sven Mikser awarded Polish ambassador Grzegorz Poznański, who is resigning today, with the Cross of Merit of the Ministry of Defence, Second Class for the development of defence cooperation between Estonia and Poland.
During Poznański’s time in office, defence cooperation between the two countries has become closer. Various high-level visits have taken place and Poland has brought a military attaché to Estonia. Poland also joined the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence during Poznański’s term in office.
“Cooperation with the Polish ambassador has been excellent and we are happy that the areas of security and defence have been under the ambassador’s special attention during his term in office,” said the Minister of Defence. “In the field of defence, we see Poland as a leading power in the region and a serious partner.”
The Cross of Merit of the Ministry of Defence, Second Class is awarded for long-term effective activity for the benefit of Estonian national defence.
