Defence Minister of the Netherlands Henk Kamp arrived in Tallinn yesterday evening for a two-day official visit completing his tour of the three Baltic States.
The Netherlands as the next presiding country of the European Union aims to get acquainted with new members of the organization.
Today Kamp will meet with the Estonian minister of Defence Margus Hanson to brief him about the Dutch presidency\'s plans concerning European security and defence policies and to get acquainted with the views of Estonia as the joining member of the EU.
Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are set to join the EU on May 1.
In addition to European defence cooperation questions, the ministers are going to talk about issues concerning the Baltic region and Estonia in particular, such as policing of the Baltic airspace and the Netherlands\' participation in developing the Tartu-based Baltic Defence College.
Tomorrow the Ministers of Defence will hold a Press Conference in the Ministry of Defence at starting at 12.25.
