PRESS RELEASE no 72 Baltic countries share defence experience with South Caucasus

On September 21 the advanced research workshop “South Caucasus: Making the Best Use of External Assistance for Stability Building and for Co-operation with NATO” will start in Vilnius.

On September 21 the advanced research workshop “South Caucasus: Making the Best Use of External Assistance for Stability Building and for Co-operation with NATO” will start in Vilnius.

During the three-day workshop a number of European countries, the Baltic countries among them will share their experience on NATO and international security issues with Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. One of the main topics of the workshop is the possible use of Baltic experience in South Caucasus. Among other topics external experts’ assistance in the benefit of overall security and stability, bilateral as well as multilateral co-operation plans and national security issues will be analysed.

 

The workshop participants come from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Poland, Turkey, Great Britain, USA, European Union, and OSCE.

The opening speeches will be held by the Lithuanian Minister of Defence Linas Linkevicius as the host representative and the Director of Baltic Defence College Brigadier General Michael Clemmensen as representative of multinational co-operation.
