Ukraine has officially submitted to Estonia its list of required military aid today, which the Estonian state will now procure as a priority from domestic defence industries.

The selection includes unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned ground vehicles, watercraft, medical equipment, and supplies offered by Estonian defence companies. For security reasons, specific details, quantities, and delivery times will not be disclosed.

"We agreed last year that both this year and next, we will provide military aid to Ukraine worth 0.25% of our annual GDP, using products from Estonia’s defence industry. It was gratifying to see that many Estonian manufacturers participated and offered their products. Today, we received feedback from Ukraine, which allows us to deliver the aid to them as quickly as possible," said Estonian Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur.

"I am very pleased with the high standard and broad range of Estonia’s defence industry. The next step is for the Estonian Centre for Defence Investments to swiftly conclude procurement contracts for the products selected by Ukraine, ensuring the necessary materials reach them without delay," said Katri Raudsepp, Chair of the Ukraine Support Measure Expert Committee and Deputy Director General of the Centre for Defence Investments (RKIK).

Estonia will continue supporting Ukraine in their fight against the aggressor with military aid amounting to at least 0.25% of GDP annually, increasing this amount by an additional quarter this year. The majority of Estonia’s military aid is invested into a measure that enables Estonian companies to contribute to Ukraine’s victory. In addition, Estonia provides Ukraine with direct military material aid, supports the training of Ukrainian armed forces, and co-leads the IT Coalition for Ukraine’s assistance together with Luxembourg. The Baltic and Nordic countries have also set the goal of equipping and training a brigade-sized Ukrainian unit by the end of 2025.

At the end of 2024, the Estonian Centre for Defence Investments (RKIK) introduced a new Ukraine support measure for the purchase of Estonian products or services suitable for use by Ukraine’s defence forces during crisis and wartime. The product catalog, handed over to Ukraine in February, includes nearly 500 products and services from around 100 Estonian companies.
